How To Manipulate Using Mass Media
clarity from noam chomsky
Noam Chomsky, one of the most important intellectuals in life today, has drawn up the list of the 10 strategies of manipulation through mass media.
1-The strategy of distraction
The primordial element of social control is the distraction strategy that consists of diverting the public's attention from major problems and the changes decided by political and economic elites, through flooding of continuous distractions and insignificant information.
Distraction strategy is also essential to prevent the public from becoming interested in essential knowledge in the area of science, economics, psychology, neurobiology and cybernetics. Keeping the audience's attention deviated from real social problems, imprisoned by themes without real importance.
Keeping the public busy, busy, busy, with no time to think, back to the farm like other animals (quoted in the text ′′ Silent weapons for quiet wars ′′).
2-Creating problems and then offering the solutions.
This method is also called the ′′ problem-reaction-solution ". It creates a problem, a ′′ situation ′′ planned to cause a certain reaction from the public, with the aim that this is the mandate of the measures they want to accept. For example: letting urban violence intensify or intensify, or organize bloody attacks, with the aim of the public being those requiring security laws and policies to the detriment of freedom. Also: create an economic crisis to make social rights demotion and dismantle public services accept as a necessary evil.
3-The Strategy of Graduation.
To make an unacceptable measure accepted, you only need to apply it gradually, to dropper, for consecutive years. This is how radically new socioeconomic conditions (neoliberism) were imposed during the decades of the 80 s and 90 s: minimum state, privatisation, precariousness, flexibility, mass unemployment, wages that no longer guarantee dignified incomes , so many changes that would have brought about a revolution if they were implemented at once.
4-The Strategy of Deferring.
Another way to get an unpopular decision to accept is to present it as ′′ painful and necessary ", gaining public acceptance, in the moment, for future application. It is easier to accept a future sacrifice than an immediate sacrifice. First, because effort isn't that taken immediately. Second, because the public, the mass, always tends to naively hope that ′′ everything will be better tomorrow ′′ and that the required sacrifice could be avoided. This gives the audience more time to get used to the idea of change and accept it resigned when the time comes.
5-Reach to the public like children.
Most publicity advertising uses speeches, topics, characters and a particularly childish intonation, many times close to weakness, as if the viewer was a few years old creature or a mental moron. When you try to deceive the viewer the more you tend to use a childish tone. Why? Why? ′′ If someone addresses a person as if they are 12 or under, then based on suggestability, they will probably tend to a response or reaction even without a critical sense like that of a 12 person. years or less ′′ (see ′′ Silent Weapons for quiet wars ′′).
6-Using emotional aspect much more than reflection.
Take advantage of emotion it's a classic technique to provoke a short circuit on a rational analysis and, finally, the critical sense of the individual. Additionally, the use of emotional register allows the unconscious access door to implant or inject ideas, desires, fears and fears, compulsions, or induce behaviors.
7-Keeping the public in ignorance and mediocrity.
Making the public incapable of understanding the technologies and methods used for their control and slavery.
′′ The quality of education given to lower social classes must be as poor and mediocre as possible, so that the distance of ignorance that plans between lower classes and upper classes is and remains impossible to fill from the lower classes ".
8-Stimulating the public to be complacent with mediocrity.
Pushing the audience to think it's fashionable to be stupid, vulgar and ignorant...
9-Strengthening self-guilt.
Making the individual believe that he is only the culprit of his disgrace, because of his insufficient intelligence, skills or efforts. So, instead of rebelling against the economic system, the individual devalues himself and blames himself, which in turn creates a depressive state, one of whose effects is the inhibition of his action. And without action there is no revolution!
10-Knowing individuals better than they know themselves.
Over the past 50 years, science's rapid progress has generated a growing gap between public knowledge and those possessed and used by dominant elites. Thanks to biology, neurobiology, and applied psychology, the ′′ system ′′ has enjoyed advanced knowledge of the human being, both in its physical and psychological form. The system has managed to learn better about the common individual than he knows himself. This means that, in most cases, the system exercises greater control and greater power over individuals, greater than that which the same individual exercises over himself.Manipulation Experiments
MANIPULATE WITH YOUR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE / PART 1
Matrix Code MANIPULA.01
Dress in a way that makes you look trustworthy and friendly. Imagine you were meeting your mother-in-law for the first time and wanted to convince her that you are just the right partner for her son/daughter.
Comb your hair neatly, cover the circles under your eyes with some makeup and use a pleasant deodorant that is not too intrusive. Shoes must match the outfit and should be polished. Then go out of the house and do the following experiments:
- Greet people who meet you on the street before they greet you or before they don't greet you (there is a reasonable amount of time when it is customary to say hello). Pay attention to whether people greet you back and whether they return eye contact.
- Ride on a public transportation system. Stand up and offer your seat when someone is standing in the aisle. How does the person respond to your offer? With some of your attention, observe how the other passengers react. You can read in them like an open book. You see it in their facial expressions, their looks, their posture.
- Go to the bank where you have an account and ask for a short-term loan of 1000 euros. Do they open doors for you? Do they make you wait? How do they talk to you? Who talks to you?
- Stand in line at the checkout in a supermarket and ask other people if they will let you go first.
How do people respond to your physical appearance? Observe where their eyes wander as they look at you. Do they tend to choose a greater or lesser distance from you? After completing this experiment, please register Matrix Code MANIPULA.01 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

Sit down in the pedestrian zone with a hat. Place the hat on the ground in front of you with the opening facing up. If you can, borrow a dog for this experiment. Let him sit next to you. Next to the hat, place a cardboard sign that says: PLEASE GIVE SOME MONEY SO I CAN BUY MY DOG SOMETHING TO EAT.
Notice and observe how you are perceived. How do people look at you?
Do they engage with you?
If someone approaches you or throws something in your hat, approach the person.
Ask why they are giving you money, what appealed to them.

MEDIA DIET
Matrix Code MANIPULA.05
Go on a media diet for 3 days. Turn off your cell phone for that time. Unplug the TV, the computer, the radio. Also turn off your car radio. Do not read newspapers during this time. If you enter a room where one of the above devices is running, leave that room.
Instead, read a book, write poetry, cook a 7-course meal for your neighbors, sing old pop songs, go to the woods, and write letters by hand to your old friends. Stick paper stamps on the letters and drop them in a mailbox.
Write the remarkable observations and insights from those 3 days in your BEEP!Book. A lot of unusual things will happen.
After the 3 days, choose with awareness and time which of the devices you want to turn on again. After completing this experiment, please register Matrix Code MANIPULA.05 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

CHOOSE WHAT YOU HAVE GOT
Matrix Code MANIPULA.06
Stop complaining and whining for a whole week. Instead, state clearly what you need and want. Consciously choose the chair you want to sit in, the people you want to talk to, the foods you want to eat.
For this time, adopt the attitude: What is right now, I have chosen. I am not here by chance, I am here because I want to be here.
If you get something you didn't order, negotiate it or choose what you got even though you didn't order it.After completing this experiment, please register Matrix Code MANIPULA.06 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.

DIVE DEEP IN ONE PLACE
Matrix Code MANIPULA.07
How does a nuclear power plant actually work? Was WTC-7 blown up on September 11, 2001? Are electric cars better for the environment?
You can have an opinion even though you know nothing about it. We are inundated all day long with opinions and a huge amount of information bits on a thousand different topics.
Are they true, are they just stories to manipulate us?
The experiment goes like this: pick a topic you're passionate about and know little to nothing about. For a whole week, gather all the information you can on the subject. Talk to experts, read scientific studies, research old sources in libraries that exist on the subject.Become an expert on the subject yourself.

PROPAGANDA IS NOTHING BUT MANIPULATION
Matrix Code MANIPULA.08
Look at the propaganda speeches of Josef Goebbels on YouTube. He was the Reichspropaganda director under Adolf Hitler and had the task of bringing the people into line. Gleichschaltung is a term from technology and it was applied to the people during the time of National Socialism. The manipulation had the goal that all people thought the same and wanted the same.
How does Josef Goebbels speak to the people? What words does he use?
What gestures and facial expressions? What posture?
How does he use speaking speed and intonation?
What images are created while listening?
How does he use emotions/feelings to manipulate?
What is he actually saying? What is the message of his words?
To which of the 5 bodies of people does Goebbels speak?

SAY NO
Matrix Code MANIPULA.09
All day long we are flooded with waves of advertisements, offers to buy, tips on how to live better, stair lifts, healthy food, psychological support, preventive care, insurance and vacation offers.
We throw these offers away, forget them, ignore them, or don't even consciously notice them.
The experiment goes like this: consciously and loudly say no to each of these offers and prompts.
- If you get an offer of supplemental dental insurance by letter, respond personally and send the letter to the insurance company. Say no to the offer.
- If there is an advertising brochure from the local supermarket in your mailbox, go to the supermarket, talk to the store manager, give the brochure back to him and tell him that you are not interested in such advertising brochures.
- Unsubscribe from any newsletters that offer you things you don't need. Write a little message about it and say no.After completing this experiment, please register Matrix Code MANIPULA.09 in your free account at StartOver.xyz.
